Alexandra L. Marrero Quiñones, Ph.D., M.S., provides genetic counseling services through the Precision Pediatrics Clinic and contributes to Sunshine Genetics, Florida's genomic newborn screening pilot program.
Marrero earned her Ph.D. in Human Genetics and M.S. in Genetic Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University, where her work focused on genetic modifiers of repeat instability in myotonic dystrophy type 1. Her expertise spans laboratory and clinical genetics, including newborn screening, molecular genetics, and genetic counseling. Her clinical and research interests include advancing newborn screening and expanding access to genetic services through research, education, and community engagement.
